Diego

Hola, I’m Diego! My name means “James” in Spanish, but I like how “Diego” rolls off of the tongue. It sounds much more interesting and makes me feel like I could be a world traveler. Who knows, maybe I have been around the world. I am a very quiet and sweet guy who would really like a nice, calm home where I can relax. I am not cut out for life here at the shelter and I am very stressed out. I hope that you fall in love with me and take me home where I can relax and be happy.
I came to the shelter when my owner passed away and his family couldn’t take me in because they already had too many animals. I was really upset over losing my parent and my home and I am having a hard time adjusting to the shelter. I am such a timid boy that I don’t try to come out of my cage, even though I really want people to pay attention to me. I love people. I want to have a companion that will show me love and affection. Is that something that you want to do? I get along okay with some other cats, but I am nervous of them and I mostly keep to myself. I am frightened of dogs and I’ve never been around children but I think I would like them if they are gentle with me. Another thing you should know is that I have no teeth. It’s really no big deal and I can eat hard cat food, but I would really prefer a soft-food diet.
My perfect home would be one in which I can relax in a nice calm environment and enjoy my time spent with people. Does that sound like a match for what you are looking for? I sure hope so because I really need to get out of the shelter and back into a home. I know I am not the youngest, most outgoing cat around, but I have lots of love to give and with a little patience and a lot of attention from you, I will be so happy. Please come down and take me home today!
