Gus

Hi there! I'm Gus, and I'm a very well-loved cat here at the ol' shelter. I arrived as a critically injured stray, and was rushed to the hospital. MaxFund really didn't think I was going to live to tell my "Tail", but now I'm here to tell it to you OUT LOUD!
I was RUN OVER (not just hit) by a car when I was just a baby. My pelvis was completely crushed and I was left to die. Most kitties in my predicament are humanely euthanized because the damage is so severe and paralysis is most often the end result. Even so, MaxFund rushed me to the hospital where a wonderful vet named Dr. Glawe very patiently and meticulously pieced my pelvis back together again.
It was VERY tricky work, and it took 3 surgeries and many, many hours. It wasn't known if I would be able to walk and function again, but I pulled through like a champ!! I even felt good enough to give those pesky Vet Techs a run for their money when it was time for my physical therapy. Heh, heh!!! That was pretty good fun. I was nicknamed "Grumpy Gus", but you'd be kinda cranky too if you'd been through what I had!
Well, that's all behind me now!! I'm back at MaxFund and I LOVE hanging out in The Skylight Room! I like to stay right by the door and block your path as you try to enter! Heh, heh! (Also great fun.) I can walk and run and climb very well, and have no problems at all in the "bathroom" department. I go like a Champ! I'm completely litter box trained, friendly with most other cats, and I love to be petted. Because I am sort of a Garfield cat (as Dr. Glawe described me) I'll take a swat at you every now and then if I think you might want to perform some sort of therapy on me. (I can be a "spicy" little character, and I don't need any dang therapy anymore!)
I just need a loving home, complete adoration, and an occasional plate of lasagna!! Come on down to the shelter and ask to meet me! I'm Gus The Miracle Cat!
