Greetings MaxFund Volunteers!

Introducing the MaxFund Custom Clothing Order!

Last year, before Christmas, we did MaxFund's first custom clothing order, where everyone could order MaxFund apparel in a variety of items including t-shirts, ladies t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, polo sportshirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, pullover jackets, fleece jackets, and more! These were available in a wide variety of sizes and more importantly, colors! We ended up raising over $2000 for the shelter, and a lot of people got the clothing exactly the way they wanted, and printed just for them! The clothing helps advertise MaxFund, helps identify you to others as a MaxFund volunteer (or just MaxFund enthusiast, whatever!) and also helps raise funds so you can't go wrong!
Enough people asked me to bring it back so I'm proud to report that the custom clothing order is once again on! For this custom clothing order, the deadline for orders will be July 31st. We WONT be doing another clothing run for the rest of the year so if you want to order some for Christmas presents make sure you order them by July 31st!

Most of the items being offered in this run are the same as the last run, with a few exceptions. We'll still be offering the Gildan t-shirts, ladies shirts, polo shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and the pullover pouch jackets and fleece jackets. These items are still available with the maxfund logo by itself, or with the word Volunteer underneath, or with the word staff underneath for staff members. The logo options will look like:

In addition to the clothing items, one new item this year will be MaxFund doggie bandanas, available with just the MaxFund logo (so if you want your pet to sport their MaxFund pride without people thinking they are up for adoption), or with the word Volunteer (great for those therapy dogs!) or with the words "ADOPT ME" on them. The adopt me bandanas are great especially for mobile adoptions and events where we take dogs, as well as for just walking dogs around the shelter. You are encouraged to buy a few adopt me bandanas to donate to the shelter so we can have them on hand, or buy some to keep and use when working with the dogs outside of the shelter. They are being offered in 10-packs right near our cost to hopefully make this happen. Theres a good chance the bandanas will fit you too so if you want one for yourself, this is a good chance to get one (or a bunch!) in a variety of colors. The "Adopt Me" Logo hasn't been finalized yet but will likely be something similiar to the image shown below:

For more information on the Custom Clothing Order, check out the Custom Clothing Order Information page, and to see the items in the store, go to the Online Store at http://www.maxfundvolunteers.org/store/ and click the Custom Clothing Order banner, or click on "Custom Clothing Order (LIMITED TIME)" on the left bar. Just a note that if you ordered any items from the last clothing run, the online store software has since been switched so if you haven't yet created an account you will need to before purchasing.

Of course you can also use this opportunity to purchase additional items through the online store, such as license plate frames, the new carabiner whistle flashlights, volunteer nametags, hats, magnetic support ribbons, and a wide variety of other items.

While I've got your attention, I wanted to take a moment to mention some of the details of this years Lucky Mutt Strut. As most folks know, this is one of our biggest annual fundraisers, and the one we really need the most volunteers for - not only the day of but in preparation for - passing out fliers, seeking sponsors and vendors and helping raise awareness of the event!
This years Lucky Mutt Strut will be held July 20th at Washington Park (since its a little later then usual in the year, we are starting a little earlier at 9am). We can use volunteers that day helping out as early as 5 am getting things set up and as late as 1 pm or so to get things torn down and taken back to the shelter, and everything in between! As always we also need volunteers to help reach out to businesses, friends and family and get them to attend, and if not attend maybe help sponsor you or another runner to raise more money! Even if you are planning on just volunteering and not participating, how about contacting everyone you know to "sponsor you" for the run? If you are interested in helping either the day of the event, or in advance of the event, please contact Joanne at jmelser@comcast.net or Jennifer Lane at jen_lane@comcast.net for more information and what they will need the most!
DON'T FORGET ABOUT PENNIES FOR POINTS!

I mentioned in the last newsletter that since we didn't win the zootoo makeover, that we should try to collect a penny for every point we earned! The grand total of points was 994,844 (I was WAY off in my last newsletter) so if we earned a penny for every point we could collect $9,948.44 for the shelter! Start collecting your change and bring it with you to Lucky Mutt Strut! We'll have some containers there for the points! You don't have to bring in pennies, feel free to bring in nickels, dimes, quarters, or even your paper money ($1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, it all spends!) and we'll try to reach that goal at the Lucky Mutt Strut!

If you'd like a flier to pass around the office or neighborhood, you can see it by going to www.maxfundvolunteers.org/LMS08flyer.pdf. Hope to see you there!

This isn't the only event we've got going on, and I will highlight the rest in the next upcoming newsletter (should be out within a week or so, but they don't write themselves! hee hee!) To see the full list of events coming up that we need help with, check out the Upcoming Events Page at http://www.maxfundvolunteers.org/upcoming.html
